He asked us for something exclusive—but not "exclusive" in the way the word is usually tossed around.
He meant something unexpected. Something impossible to overlook.
Something no one else has.

An object that would speak of him and his work with both delicacy and strength.
Something that could truly tell his story—intended for a rare kind of listener, someone to be conquered at first glance.

A bet of this kind means diving deep, and for us at Onymous, there is only one answer at the root of everything we do: wonder.

We had to go all-in on what we do best—the ancient and ever-living art of storytelling, which transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary.
And so, we chose the language of fairy tales to narrate luxury—not just any luxury, but luxury as Roberto sees it.

Made of time, attention, and care.

The book

"The Hidden Thread – A story about the essential luxury of time" is a visual and symbolic tale.
A precious object, hand-printed in collaboration with Inchiostro Puro in Grugliasco, blending words, photography, and illustration in a rare equilibrium of art, craftsmanship, and poetry.

This text was born from an interview—with no notebook, no pen.
It was born over dinner, with one—or more—glasses of wine, while sharing something deeply traditional and rooted in our land.
Listening to Roberto talk about himself, the world, beauty, faith, the value of waiting and the sacredness of gesture.

It was a rediscovery of someone we already knew—through his beliefs, his experiences, and his strengths, but above all through his hypocrisies, ambiguities, and weaknesses—engaging and vivid because they are human.

That exposed fragility allowed us to write something authentic and profoundly his.

Each page is a metaphor, a mirror of what is fundamental to him and forms his personal definition of luxury: Thought. Faith. Matter. Heritage. Time.
Five allegories to discover a man, to see him through the lens of his work.

Each text is accompanied by metaphorical and archetypal illustrations, speaking in symbols. They evoke and suggest all that words cannot say, guiding the reader through a silent journey.

The photographs show reality as it is.
They document a patient, loving, artisan’s labor.
Each shot is an homage to time, to the gesture.

Among many printing houses contacted, only one had the courage to take on something so meticulous, so precious.
Thanks to the collaboration with Ilaria Miotto, it was possible to print just a few—rare and priceless—copies of what is far more than a catalogue:
It is a biography from A Thousand and One Nights, where the words gleam with gold, hand-printed on pages bound with care and mastery.

For Roberto, luxury is a form of time.
An invisible thread that runs through matter and the ages.

With this project, Onymous Studios has sewn together words, symbols, and images to give voice to a story that is both precious and unrepeatable.
